Deviations Update: The submissions have been going well. I have submitted a poem, a short story, and the prologue to the book I am writing called The Lake House. You can find the prologue in the folder in my Gallery called Book: The Lake House. I'm also including the links to each one under this update. Other than that I found some photography I had not yet posted so I've adjusted the submission schedule to reflect the new photography I found. I've also changed the days in between updates so I don't submit deviations on class dates. This makes it easier for me to focus on my college studies.

Handsome RaptureA shadow in the night,
brings me much fright.
It signals that he is near,
that which I truly fear.
For he holds my heart for ransom,
with a perfect visage of handsome.
Within my harden soul his presence brings rapture,
which will lead to my eventual capture.
For his soul and mine,
should forever more intertwine.
The Passage Way (Critiques Appreciated)She led me deep into the brush far away from where they were looking for us. She stopped in front of a small brook. She then started stepping on five small stones in what seemed like an intricate pattern. When at last she stopped the rocks parted and revealed a secret passage way. As I went down the look of the passage way changed from a regular tunnel to what looked like a grand hallway of some sorts. It had many doorways on both sides that let to who knows what.
“Alanea, where are you leading me?” I asked.
“To a place that no one but I know about. I built this place a century ago as a place to run away to. I promised a few prisoners freedom as long as they built this and left the continent.” she said.
“So won’t we starve in here?”
“No, I stocked it with enough frozen raw meat and water for at least a year for you. I also have a years worth of blood down here for me. I stocked it when things started getting bloody between our families. S
PrologueIt was a hot, muggy day at my house in Cedar Park, Texas as we packed up everything that we owned so it could be moved to our new house in Pampa, Texas. I had just graduated two days ago and was officially out of high school. I was kind of upset by the move - I had lived here for eighteen years of my life, after all - but I had no choice except to go along with it for now, at least until I went to college. Even then, I'd have to end up living with it - no way was I living on campus. The move was effortless for me, because I got stuck with the easiest job of all - watching my five year old brother while everyone else did all the hard work. It was a wonder they ever got finished moving almost our whole house in just one day.
The first night that we slept there, I had to sleep in my brother's small bed because my parents said that they "didn't have the time to move any of my stuff" to the new house. Most of the nights for the first week, I barely slept because there were a lot of sounds t

Life Update: I went to the eye doctor over spring break and my prescription changed just enough to warrant a new pair of glasses. I'm hoping to stay within all the parameters my insurance has to make sure I spend as little as possible so I can get the anti-reflective coating on this new pair. Also, with spring break being over classes are back in full spring and I am busier than every as I am now in the home stretch of the semester.

Other Updates: I forgot to mention in my last update that I passed the content portion of the teaching exams. Now the only exam I have left is the professional responsibilities and ethics exam.
